Halloween is less than a week a way, so we thought it the perfect occasion to share October’s Playlist—just in time for weekend excursions to the pumpkin patch and Halloween-themed dinner parties! Rather than going with all of the tried-and-true Halloween favorites (Thriller, Ghost Busters, Monster Mash) we thought it would be nice to share some slightly lesser-known, low-key tunes with an eerie, haunting vibe. From Karen Elson’s beautiful bluegrass-inflected “The Ghost Who Walks” to Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “I Put A Spell On You” (we had to include one classic, right?), these dark ditties will be sure to put you in the Halloween spirit. Have a wonderful (spoooooky) weekend, everybody! —Max
