August has always seemed like the unofficial month of Road Trips. This time of year, one can usually find highways across the country gridlocked with minivans, station wagons, and campers filled with people trying to get that last bit of vacation in before Labor Day. I don’t know about you, but I find that the difference between an AWESOME fun-filled road trip and a dismal never-ending journey through asphalt Hell often comes down to the choice of playlist. As in most situations, music on road trips can help to significantly increase the level of fun, stamina, and friendly cohabitation—things that are essential when cooped up in a car for hours on end. I’m sure everybody has their own go-to tracks for blasting in the car, but these are my favorites. From The B-52′s Roam (an essential for any adventure) to Phantom Planet’s California (I really couldn’t resist), these jams will have you singing along and dancing in your seat the whole drive through. Check out the full track list plus iTunes and Rdio links after the jump! —Max
